IT/OT System Engineer - Paper Bag Manufacturing Organization

The IT/OT System Engineer at a paper bag manufacturing organization ensures seamless integration and secure operation of both corporate IT systems and industrial production technologies. This role is critical for maintaining high availability of production lines, from converting and printing machines to cutting and packaging equipment, while supporting enterprise IT requirements. The engineer acts as a bridge between production operations and IT, aligning industrial automation systems with company-wide digital strategies, cybersecurity standards, and data-driven optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and optimize OT systems in paper bag production plants, including SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial PCs
• Ensure network reliability and segmentation between IT and OT environments
• Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures for production systems
• Support integration of production data into enterprise IT systems for analytics and reporting
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and IT teams to minimize downtime and optimize processes
• Participate in change management, system upgrades, and compliance audits
• Troubleshoot complex cross-domain IT/OT issues impacting production

Our Requirements:

• IT Infrastructure: Servers, virtualization, storage, backup solutions
• Networking: Industrial networks, firewalls, VPNs, TCP/IP, VLANs
• OT Systems: SCADA, PLC, HMI, industrial protocols (Profinet, Modbus, OPC)
• Cybersecurity: Threat detection, patch management, endpoint protection, monitoring
• Operational Focus: High uptime, process continuity, risk mitigation
• Spanish and English mandatory, Catalan and Italian nice to have
• Flexibility and open to travel 10% (Catalonia-Madrid-Vasc Country)
• Proactive, autonomous, team player with good communication skills
• Available to start in November (preferably)
