Mechanical Engineer Substrate Handling

Role Summary: Design and develop critical substrate holders (chucks) and handling systems for wet chemistry processing tools used in advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design substrate holders for plating, cleaning, and etching processes
• Develop sealing concepts, clamping mechanisms, and chemical interfaces
• Optimize designs for uniform process conditions and minimal particle generation
• Design mechanical interfaces for tool automation systems
• Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analysis
• Validate chemical compatibility and material performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on productization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in precision mechanical design
• Proficiency in Siemens NX/SolidEdge or similar CAD tools
• Strong foundation in GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Experience with testing and validation of mechanical systems

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of semiconductor wet processing equipment
• Experience with substrate/chuck handling systems
• Understanding of sealing technologies and material selection
• Automation system integration experience
