How you’ll make your mark

Your main tasks in this role are:

  • In your role, you are responsible for developing and leading ALDI Süd’s strategic growth plan and global expansion strategy 
  • Your tasks include developing market entry and growth strategies for both existing and new markets, as well as for other market verticals
  • You are responsible for preparing comprehensive market studies, research, and strategy plans 
  • Evaluating investment opportunities and shaping deal strategies and tactics globally belong to your core duties
  • You conduct in-depth research and analysis of markets, industries, and potential acquisition targets
  • Creating comprehensive business cases, including assessing strategic fit, operational impact, and potential synergies, is part of your daily work
  • You are executing market development/entry strategies, as well as impactful M&A transactions within grocery retail and other sectors
  • You build and supervise the creation of detailed market and financial models using various valuation techniques (e.g., DCF, multiples)
  • Coordinating and executing due diligence activities with internal experts, ALDI countries, and external advisors is a key responsibility
  • Project management and managing internal and external stakeholders throughout all project phases forms an essential part of your role
  • You collaborate closely with colleagues across the ALDI Süd Group and external partners, including consultants, investment banks, and other advisors

Your profile

The requirements of the role include:

  • You hold a university degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • You have 5-7 years’ relevant experience in strategy consulting, M&A, corporate finance, business development or similar
  • Top-tier consultancy experience in retail, especially in market studies, commercial due diligence, M&A and global expansion strategies is highly valuable
  • Your analytical skills cover both quantitative and qualitative market research, as well as financial modelling (including DCF and multiples) 
  • You are a strategic thinker who prepares clear business cases and decision-making materials for senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is part of your skill set; experience with data visualisation tools like SAP, Tableau, Power BI, or ThinkCell is advantageous
  • You communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and cross-border stakeholders, maintaining trust and collaboration
  • Your work style is organised, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with strong commercial awareness and discretion

Remuneration

Gross annual salary starting from € 104.300*

*willingness to overpay with appropriate qualifications
