Senior Fullstack Developer (m/w/d)
STANDARD Medien AGAt STANDARD Marketplaces, a business unit of STANDARD Medien AG, you help people find answers to life’s big questions through our digital platforms: Where can I find my new home? What’s my next career move? You play a key role in bringing providers and interested users together.
STANDARD Marketplaces operates Austria’s leading marketplace platforms, including jobs.derStandard.at, immobilien.derStandard.at, and finden.at. We are looking for an experienced developer to take ownership of our shared frontend monorepo - the technical foundation upon which both platforms and verticals are built.
You won't just be working on the "front end" of the UI: Next.js brings its own backend capabilities, including API routes, server-side rendering (SSR), as well as CDN and infrastructure topics on AWS. If this excites you and you also have a sharp eye for design and user experience, you will fit right in.
You will work within a small team featuring flat hierarchies, short decision-making paths, and direct communication.
This is the impact you will have in this position
- Feature Development: You will develop and maintain features across both our verticals (Jobs, Property) and platforms (derStandard.at, finden.at) using Next.js (App Router), React, and TypeScript.
- Full-Stack Integration: You will move confidently across the traditional frontend/backend boundary, handling Next.js API routes, SSR, and cloud infrastructure work on AWS (including CDK as an IaC framework, CloudFront/CDN, and Cognito authentication).
- API Integration: You will connect the frontend to our GraphQL API.
- Design System Collaboration: You will actively help shape our shared design system - reusable components, design tokens, and consistent UI patterns - while working closely with our UX/Design team.
- Quality & Stability: You will ensure sustainable code quality and production stability through testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, error tracking (Sentry), and synthetic monitoring of our platforms.
What we are looking for
- Experience: Several years of professional experience working with React/Next.js and TypeScript in a production environment, serving a public audience
- Full-Stack & Cloud: Experience at the intersection of frontend and backend development (experience with CDK as an IaC framework is a plus).
- AI Literacy: You use AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) purposefully to work more efficiently - as a complement to your skills, not a replacement. You understand, review, and take full responsibility for every line of code you deploy.
- APIs: Knowledge of GraphQL is an advantage.
- UI/UX & Accessibility: A strong eye for UI/UX and design-system thinking - attention to detail, consistency, and accessibility are highly important to you.
- Tooling: Experience with monorepo tooling (Nx or similar) is beneficial.
- Languages: Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of German is an advantage but not required.
