Your Leadership responsibilities

• Build and lead a research unit of 10-20 researchers
• Secure funding through SAL's cooperation models
• Strategically plan and allocate resources
• Mentor and supervise researchers
• Manage corporate and profit responsibilities
• Initiate collaborative projects with academia and industry
• Expand international networks
• Shape research programs and project portfolios
• Grow units toward excellence and economic impact
• Foster collaborative, motivated team environments

Your Scientific responsibilities

• Develop units to world-class status
• Guide career advancement of researchers
• Define strategic directions and resource allocation
• Establish and manage funded research projects
• Support scientific/industrial partners
• Provide technical expertise to project managers
• Lead industry-project initiatives and grant proposals
• Increase SAL visibility through publications and events

Your profile

• PhD in engineering/physics with expertise in relevant areas
• Deep global market and European industrial ecosystem knowledge
• International research achievements
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience
• Proven track record establishing new entities
• Excellent communication/organizational skills
• 10+ years managing international projects and securing funding
• Strong industrial/academic network
• Proactive, creative thinking; effective team leadership
• Fluent English (German plus)

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group G. Competitive salaries and benefits based on experience, starting at a minimum gross salary of EUR 80,000 annually (All-in contract).
