Your Role

  • Define and drive integrated photonics architectures for trapped ion systems
  • Design photonic interfaces between room temperature laser sources and cryogenic ion traps
  • Architect and realize on-chip photonic components optimized for VIS wavelengths
  • Lead precision optical assembly for cryogenic modules
  • Specify and execute metrology and validation at room temperature and cryogenic conditions
  • Drive system level trade-offs and roadmaps
  • Mentor junior engineers, write documentation, contribute to patents/publications
  • Enable scalable cryogenic trapped ion quantum computing

Your Profile

  • University degree in Physics/Photonics (PhD preferred)
  • 10+ years hands-on experience in photonics/optics
  • Experience with trapped ion experiments (plus)
  • Proficiency in optical design tools and thermo-mechanical modeling
  • Characterization of photonic hardware including cryogenic measurements
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills

We offer competitive salaries based on performance, experience and qualification. Employment follows the collective salary agreement for the electrical/electronics industry (group J). Monthly salary paid 14 times p.a. Higher compensation available based on expertise.
